The Village Green Gators Swim Team provides opportunities for boys and girls to have fun and to build self-confidence, endurance, self-discipline, and good sportsmanship through competitive swimming in a safe environment.
The Gator Swim Team competes strongly in the Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swimming Association and is available to children and grandchildren of Village Green residents and some non-residents on a space-available basis.
All children between the ages of 5 and 18 as of May 31 of current year are invited to join the team. Practices are an hour in length (older kids go longer), five days per week, beginning the day after Memorial Day and ending in late July with the GKAISA City Meet.
The Gators also experience many team-building activities including a water carnival for the 10 and under age group, a trip to Dolly’s Splash Country for ages 11 – 14, and a trip for the older swimmers. The end of the season awards banquet celebrates the accomplishments of every swimmer.
